In what might not be the most popular video I have ever done, I deal with the topic on why others have failed or not succeeded on the Atkins Diet. Some times you have to take accountability for your own actions, but my goal was to use these stories of past failed attempts of the Atkins Diets to prevent others from falling victim to the same thinking. Here is the top 7 reasons people fail: 1. Use it as a fad diet or quick weight loss, and then hop off the diet. 2. Never read the book / think there is only one phase 3. Modify the diet or believe they know better 4. Believe if a little is good, then none must be better 5. Believe they can cycle carbs to achieve better results, and end up just cycling on 6. Cheat a single time due to a unique occassion / failure to plan, and give up on themselves 7. Get frustrated with a weight loss hesitation or stall and call it quits #81 – Top Favorited (Today) – Education

@lakegirl645 Thanks Kent! That means so much.
Can’t wait to watch it!
@lakegirl645 Well my video I am releasing in a few hours is dedicated to your success…
I loved this video! Great advice, and I am so ready for a change right now. Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge and research. Can’t wait to be a success story too!
xx
@nejihyuga901 Good luck on your diet. It wouldn’t work for me, but I am glad it did for you.
I watched every episode of a season of “The Biggest Loser” in less than 48 hours and immediately stopped eating junk food. Now I mostly drink water, I drink a little blueberry juice and drink a Lucozade after a good work out. I mostly eat fruit except for my small breakfast and dinner. It’s going good.
Thank you for this video! I have done low/Atkins before. Had success. Then went off the diet and gained back a lot of weight. I’ve tried many other times and just didn’t succeed. I realize what I’ve done wrong. I’ve done the things you mention in the video like eating a lot of cheese, having a lot of aspertame, and using a lot of cream on induction and “going off” the diet. I’m on day 4 of induction so it’s good that I watched this. Thanks again for this!
@MsBathory7 See I hit rock bottom, and I knew I had to make some sacrifices in order to get healthy. I completely understand where others when not faced with the potential imminent demise might not see it that way. I also could have a mock danish to satisfy my sweet tooth. Best of luck!
that went for induction i know after induction i might of had more options
you originally inspired me to try the atkins diet so i decided to give it a try i had great success the week i tried it for but i admit it i have an issue i cant live without some kind of sugar. I have a sweet tooth and not being able to have any sort of sweet or desert killed me. Since ive been counting calories ill have a banana grapes or strawberries to statisfy my sweet tooth and with the atkins diet i had nothing
@bowulf
I like the way you handle trolls.
@ksb100pr Wow…. what uneducated troll you are… Back to your bridge, troll.

@NinaSimone17 Yes.
Is stevia ok as a sugar replacement?
@blssed2bme1234 You can have Splenda, but you have count it against your limit of 3 sweeteners per day.
@blssed2bme1234 The almonds were off limits during Induction, but other than that you should be fine.
Oh… ps…. i have a sweet tooth and I read that you can eat a splenda packet.. your thoughts on that?
I have started Atkins today with BK breakfast bowl, side salad with 2 carb dressing not cheese or tomatoes, 4 raw almonds and 1 1/2 servings of chicken breast. Do you think this was ok?
@deniselatham I am just glad I could help. I hope the future videos are as helpful as the past ones have been.
Can’t thank you enough for your videos…. My best support system!
I think that the problem with people’s assumptions about diets is that they don’t realize that most diets should be life changing.The good diets are,the bad ones should only be used temperarly or preferrebly not at all. I have also noticed factors like how fast your metabolism is, how much you work out, how dedicated you are to the diet, how much alcohol you drink, if you smoke ciggeretts, if you are active or not active depends also on your progress through a diet. My doctor told me that lol
@alphacause I really think that if people would actually read the diet and evaluate the diet on its merits that a lot of the knee jerk reactions would go away. I know my initial criticism to my brother was completely unfounded because I had no idea what it was. Thanks for your kind words….
@bowulf You are absolutely correct. Almost every criticism of the Atkins diet, including how the media negatively portrays it, always distorts the Atkins diet into something that it is not.
@coughcoughehhem Definitely the right first step… I know I messed up before I actually read the book — tried to do what I thought the diet was instead of what it actually was.
excellent video! I think I’m going to re-read through the book again to make sure I’m doing it correctly
